Meg Otanwa discusses gaining weight for her part in ‘For Maria.’

In the Damilola Orimogunje-directed film, the actress plays a young mother suffering from postpartum depression.

Meg Otanwa, a Nollywood actress, has spoken out about her role as the lead in the upcoming Netflix film ‘For Maria Ebun Pataki.’

In a recent tweet, Otanwa, who plays a young mother suffering from postpartum depression, explained how she gained weight in order to produce a realistic postpartum tummy.

“To achieve a realistic postnatal body, I chose to gain some weight for the role. I took a pix b4 I started gaining weight and the 2nd was my belly a few days before the shoot. I’m honoured by your feedback,” the actress wrote.

‘For Maria Ebun Pataki’ debuted on Netflix on January 16 and has received excellent feedback on social media.

The film, directed by Damilola Orimogunje, also stars Gabriel Afolayan, Tina Mba, and Judith Audu.
