According to TMZ, the billionaire rapper Kanye West applied for a name change to ‘Ye’ in a Los Angeles court on Tuesday, August 24, 2021.
This comes ahead of the release of his new album, ‘Donda,’ which he titled for his late mother.
It is unclear if she would alter her name if the billionaire’s choice is upheld by the court.
In a chat with Yeezy’s chief footwear designer Steven Smith in 2019, the rapper initially hinted at ambitions to alter his name.
