When a young college woman attracts her crush’s attention in CJ Obasi’s novel “Suffer the Witch,” love and friendship turn into an obsession. In Omonua’s ‘Love Potion,’ an unmarried woman agrees to use juju to find her ideal mate, and in Makama’s ‘Yam,’ a street urchin picks up seemingly random money from the roadside, with disastrous results.
The award-winning film recently had a private screening in Lagos, with diplomatic dignitaries and the crème de la crème of the Nollywood film industry in attendance.
