Basketmouth, the show’s creator, has revealed details about his upcoming Showmax original series ‘Ghana Jollof.’
The series is currently in production and stars an ensemble cast from Nigeria and Ghana, directed by award-winning director Diji Aderogba.
The multi-talented entertainer revealed the idea for the song (featuring Falz and Kwabena Kwabena) to hit him on a flight from Accra to Lagos in a new video centered on the series’ newly released soundtrack. Basketmouth also revealed that the series’ script was well underway prior to the inspiration for the soundtrack.

Interestingly, despite the title, the upcoming series has nothing to do with Jollof rice and instead follows two Nigerian men who embark on a fun-filled trip to Ghana.
“Ghana Jollof is about two Nigerian who travel to Ghana to Jollof and the soundtrack is not about Jollof rice either, it is about sex,” Basketmouth explains in the video.

Basketmouth’s ‘Ghana Jollof’ will be Showmax’s second original, following the reality show ‘I Am Laycon,’ which debuted earlier this year.
Basketmouth, Uzor Arukwe, Akah Nnani, Funnybone, Ghanaian actors Joselyn Dumas and James Gardiner, and others star in the new show.
