Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti biopic: Dele Odule & Jide Kosoko join the cast

The veterans have been announced as the latest additions to the cast of the biopic currently in development.

Bolanle Austen-Peters, the director of the upcoming Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti biopic, has praised veteran actors Jide Kosoko, Dele Odule, and Adebayo Salami (Oga Bello) for their outstanding work on set.

Peters revealed the veterans in an Instagram post recently, sharing how they helped make the biopic a success.

“So I had Nigeria’s Al Pacino, Marlon Brando and Robert De Niro in my latest movie. Messers Jide Kosoko, Dele Odule, and Adebayo Salami. The trio were phenomenal. We came prepared. When God has a plan. “He brings three of the biggest names in Hollywood to your team,” the film director gushed.

“I had cast other actors in the same key roles, but time and coordination didn’t permit them, so we had to rejig and voila! These three giants of Nigerian moviedom just happened to be available. They made us laugh, cry, and we truly made history come alive. They were extremely professional and respectful of their craft and of mine. What an honor, sirs. The wealth of experience and knowledge was incredible. I am truly honored. We made our culture come alive so beautifully, so regal, so elegant. Thousands of years of civilisation were brought to the screen. “

Joke Silva, the film’s lead actress, for her work in the film. According to the filmmaker, the 60-year-old veteran did all of her stunts without assistance.

Remember that the BAP productions boss unveiled the Kuti biopic titled ‘Lioness of Lisabi’ earlier this month. The upcoming film will follow the life of the revered activist and scholar, with cameos from her children and grandchildren.

Kehinde Bankole, Keppy Ekpenyong, Omowunmi Dada, Bikiya Graham-Douglas, Ibrahim Suleiman, Adunni Ade, Patrick Diabuah, and Shawn Faqua are among the other cast members. The biopic is set to hit theaters in 2022.
